Helping H.E.A.R.T. 9/11
Ms. Donna Lamonaco, a volunteer representative with H.E.A.R.T. 9/11, a healing emergency and rescue training organization, receives $1260 from Taylor Carhart (right) a commercial arts student at Polytech. Along with her classmates Dimitri Dubinin (Graphic Arts) and Emily Zakrzewski (Nursing), they raised the money through various fundraising including food sales, paper chain competitions and penny jar donations as part of the SkillsUSA Chapter Community Service State Competition. H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 was formed by individuals directly involved with Ground Zero at the World Trade Center including firefighters, police officers, construction workers and victims’ family members. Their mission is to use their experiences to help others overcome devastating events. This money will be used to support relief efforts in Haiti.
