Electrical - Energy Technologies I & ll This course is for students interested in conservation, preservation & ecology with an emphasis in global energy reduction. In Green Energy, the students will be working on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Educational Lab Kit. In the Lab-Volt, Solar and Wind Energy Training System, the students will explore solar and wind as energy sources that can be used to help reduce dependence on non-renewable fuel sources. In the renewable energy lab, the students will work toward their auditing certification in green energy by conducting energy audits in classroom setting, with field trips to residential homes. Students will learn the use of industry tools such as temperature guns, foot candle meters, and manometers. This course will further explore solar, wind and hydrogen energy sources and focus on green energy careers. Finally, for those who would like to work in the electrical field or become a licensed electrician, this class will also cover residential and commercial electric. We will cover electrical theory, components, codes, calculations, applications, and residential & commercial installation. Upon successful completion of this course, students may be eligible to apply their instructional hours towards the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This program is provided through the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the US Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship and meets the requirements to become an electrical contractor in New Jersey. |
